Human Rights Related? iPhone and iPad Assembly to Move to Brazil

Is the move related to China's human rights abuses and increasing oppression?

Companies in China run a huge risk being associated with the modern day equivalent of Nazi Germany.

Apple currently assembles its iPhones and iPads in China, but according to numerous reports Apple's contract assembler, Foxconn, is planning to move production to the Brazilian state of Sao Paolo. Foxconn is rumored to invest up to 12 billion dollars in Brazil to move assembly there.  The planned move might have its roots in China's increasingly horrific human rights record.

China At Bottom Of Press Freedoms Again in 2011

China continued its long stretch as a leader of unfreedom of the press. According to the recently released report from the authoritative Freedom House organization, Freedom of the Press 2011, China tied for 184th place with Laos and Tunisia. Remarkably, even Syria, Rwanda, and Somalia have better press freedom records than lowly China. China was just barely better than North Korea, Libya, and Burma.

Dozens of members of an independent protestant church were arrested in Beijing today for holding an out doors easter ceremony. The church held the ceremony outside since they do not have a physical church. There is no physical church since the communist government in China does not allow non-government controlled religions to practice.

Ai Wei Wei Confirms Jasmine Is Strong Despite Heavy Suppression In China

Dissident artist Ai Wei Wei confirmed in an interview that the momentum started by the Jasmine organizers in China  is going strong despite outrageous levels of government suppression by the authoritarian single party state.  The Telegraph released comments about the interview which is to be published in Time Out Hong Kong next week, writes the "impetus for a Jasmine revolution in China is very strong" according to the outspoken critic of the oppressive regime in China.

Over a thousand people gathered in Shanghai, and large numbers of others in dozens of locations throughout the country gathered together to protest the lack of respect for basic human rights in China.

China Prepares To Slow Growth To Suppress Population

Their next step is to move into a stage of stronger suppression to make sure they can keep their fortunes for a long, long time. Wen Jiabao recently spoke to China's netizens and described how the economy would be slowing down this year, and otherwise prepped the Chinese public to be more oppressed.
